UYO partners with UNDP and Bamenda 3 Council to celebrate Peace Day through Engage for Peace Festival. As part of activities to mark this day, we had cooking competition, fashion parade to showcase the traditional regalia of th NOrth West people , support to those involved in the traditional embroidery and lots more prices. Part one of the program was a Regional Conference for Peace and Social Cohesion which was on 21st of October while part two was Cultural Festival which took place on the 22nd of October 2021 at Cameroon Franco Alliance. United Youths Organization at the closing of July trained some 20 Women led and women rights Leaders in Belo Sub Division on prevention, protection and mitigation of GBV. The UN Women -CERF sponsored project is carefully executed by United Youths Organization. Speaking during the opening of the training was Melvin Songwe Shuye the Project Manager said, it is an eye opening and an opportunity for UYO to exercise their mandate as far as the humanitarian response is concerned. He went further to encourage the women to take this opportunity to preach against GBV in their groups. While thanking UN women for giving such opportunity, UYO has pledged to ensure a gender based free community
