UYO Distribute Mama and Dignity Kits to GBV Surivors in Belo and Batibo Sub Divisions.

United Youths Organization has within the 16 Days activism against GBV, assisted some women and girls who have or are experiencing Gender Base Violence (GBV) or are the risk of GBV to benefit from provision and access to quality health care services in the community of Batibo and Belo in the Momo and Boyo division respectively of the Northwest region. As part of her humanitarian assistance has given about 125 dignity kits   (bucket, soap , loin, omo, slippers, pads, torch, hand sanitize, toothbrush and toothpaste and many more) and 75 mama kits ( bucket, babies set, napkin, la Croix ,Vaseline, towel, comb, pants, Savon, toothbrush, toothpaste and tissue). This equipment’s were donated to UYO by UN women, CERF funds and CBHS-SEEPD program through her disability in humanitarian project. This mark part of celebration of the 16 days of activism to end violence against women and girls. Dignity kits are given to women and girls who have (survivor) or are experiencing GBV while mama kits are distributed to pregnant women. These beneficiaries are identified by the psychosocial worker in the field and register with respect of the kind of assistance needed. Speaking to some of the survivors was the Representative of the CEO Melvin Songwe Shuye who is the project manager, appreciated the survivors and encouraged them to remain steadfast and proactive and shown stigma, shame. The survivors did appreciate and said UYO for the past years has proven to be the humanitarian organization by giving to them diversified services ranging from case management, livelihood and also dignity and mama kits. This will go a long way for improve their well being, special appreciation was send to the funders UN Women and CERF for looking up to the underserved communities especially at the heart of the crisis.
